HUNGARY- Our Sister City Szekeshfehrevar is the 14th fastest growing economy in Europe. There have been several youth and artistic exchanges between the cities. Each year Birmingham Southern students spend a year teaching English at their local college. IN 2001 the City saluted Hungary during the International Festival. Sister Cities sponsored an art and artist exchange.

Birmingham-Southern students are working there at Kodalyani College. Plans are being made for a major exchange this year with Szekeshfehrevar. The Committee is looking to do a youth exchange in 2008. We also hosted Ambassador Simony and his wife visited Birmingham May 26-28. He visited the Civil Rights Institute, Jazz Hall of Fame, American Village and 16 th Street Baptist Church.
